“Friends… Yeah..” Sora said a bit softly, little did he know that it was because of Bekah, she grew used to harsh personalities, words, and actions. She laughed, “She’s really something.” The older girl looked surprised to hear someone think of Charms like that, it being one of her well liked subjects. She shrugged, “Well, I always thought of Charms as a more creative and daily life route than Transfigurations. It’s all about the concentration and precise movements as well. Transfigurations is known to be more difficult than Charms making you seem more uptight but when it comes to Charms, you just have to relax and concentrate but don’t over think.”
Sora smiled, she really enjoyed Charms so she gets a bit excited when explaining the subject. Realizing that she must of talked too much, she slightly blushed and put her head down.
“How do you know Bekah anyway? I thought you went to Beauxbatons,” he said. He flipped the page in front of him over and looked up briefly to see her still working as well. He always wondered how Bekah scrounged up her many friendships. Hell, Bekah was a mysterious being all together, if he was being honest. He rolled his eyes, half-listening to the things the girl next to him was saying. “You must really like Charms then huh?” he said as he turned his head sideways and eyed her. She really was very distracting with her profile catching on the stray rays of sunlight and haloing around her. “We’d have to agree to disagree then. I’ve never thought of Charms as anything but a nuisance of a subject, however helpful it might be. Transfiguration and Defense are much more enjoyable. There is more control and more discipline to be had in those two subjects. Much easier for me to learn.”
He shrugged as if it was nothing to him and it was, partly. Kyuhyun had always been gifted in all manner of subjects. Ever since he was young, he’d always had a thirst for knowledge and saying Charms was a bit more difficult for him was really just another way to say that, well, he didn’t love the subject as much as the others. Thus, him getting lazy with it. He looked at her again, blushing and hiding it, he chuckled and continued on with his own work.
“Hmm. That’s a nice name.” she complimented, doodling on her extra parchment. The boy intrigued her, he seemed a bit closed off but it didn’t matter to her; Sora always does her best when it comes to making friends. Hearing the boy’s sudden question, she hesitated. “That sounds a bit off, doesn’t it?”, she replied, bashfully. “Well, it’s a bit complicated but Bekah had me transfer here. I’m sure you’ve heard of Bekah, she seems to be quite the talk around here.” Sora laughed a bit faintly, she began to play with the ends of her hair and puffed out her cheeks. It was a habit of hers to do so and it usually made her look like a bunny.
“Ah, that’s good.”, she said after hearing the boy retort harshly. Sora was unaffected, she was used to this kind of treatment, it was as if she was immune to it. The girl smiled as she saw what he was working on, Charms. Charms was one of her greater strengths, she was an avid user of Accio and Lumos, simple but useful charms. Seeing by the cover of his book, she could tell he was a sixth year. “You’ll love charms, Aguamenti and Avis were quite enjoyable to learn.”
Kyuhyun snorted. “Oh, I definitely know Bekah. No worries there.” He picked up a quill and smoothed out a roll of parchment. He’d try to get at least something done today, even with the added distraction sitting next to him. “It’s just strange. It does sound like a Bekah thing to do though, dragging one of her friends over here,” he continued. His eyes began to scour the page of Charms work over and set to work on his notes. He didn’t look up, missing her expression. “She’s batty, she is.”
His slight rolled off her and he was a bit impressed. Many usually took offense and left sooner or later, most of the time sooner. Maybe she’d be that small percentage that left later. He grunted at her words. “Charms are as enjoyable as grindylows,” he said as he continued to write his notes down. “Had never quite seen the appeal.”
